We went to see the sold out All Blacks game this weekend. The stadium was buzzing with energy and supporters of both teams. The night began with the national anthems of both teams, and then the All Blacks performed their traditional game starting haka.
I've discovered that I still have a lot to learn about rugby penalties and the finer points of the game, but I suppose that's still true of American football! Even with my limited knowledge and the spitting rain, it was a fun game to be at. The friendly man next to us was happy to keep us informed of the more pressing penalty calls and a good seat companion.
New Zealand won, 29 to 15. Unfortunately for me, I couldn't talk P into making a bet on it (he was rooting for South Africa!) so I didn't win any money. :-P
